What an SEO solution should actually contain.
By Vijay Ara, Founder, BizIntegra Truro, Nova Scotia Updated October 25, 2026
An SEO solution is a diagnosis plus a set of changes to your site and your listings, in an order that makes sense. It is not a tool you subscribe to, and it is not a package with the same contents for every business.

A solution answers a specific problem
When someone offers you an SEO solution, ask which problem it solves. If the answer is "getting you to page one", the offer is a slogan. Page one for what, in which city, for which customer, and at what point in their search?
A real solution starts from a diagnosis. Your site may not be indexed properly. It may rank, but with titles that nobody clicks. It may have strong pages and no local presence. Each of those needs a different fix, and a bundle that treats them identically will waste most of its effort.
The parts that belong in it
The first part is a technical review. That means crawlability, indexing, redirects, duplicate pages, canonical tags, site speed on mobile, and whether Google can read your structured data. These are the problems that quietly cap everything else.
Second comes a keyword and page map. Each important service or product gets a page that matches how customers search, with a clear title, a useful body and links from related pages. One page trying to cover everything usually covers nothing.
Third comes on-page and content work: rewriting weak titles and descriptions, answering real customer questions, adding detail that competitors skip. Fourth, for any business that serves a place, is local SEO: your Google Business Profile, its categories, your name, address and phone consistency, and reviews.
Measurement ties it together. You need Search Console and analytics set up so that calls, form submissions or orders are tracked, otherwise nobody can tell whether any of the work helped.
Where software fits and where it does not
SEO software is useful. It can crawl your site, flag broken links and track positions. Plugins such as Yoast or Rank Math help you manage titles and sitemaps on WordPress.
But a subscription is a tool, not a solution. A report that says you have 214 issues does not tell you which three matter. Software cannot decide that your category page should be merged with another, that your location pages are too thin, or that the real problem is a redesign that changed every URL without redirects. That takes someone who has seen the pattern before.
Be careful with products that promise automatic SEO. Automatic tools can handle small repetitive jobs. They cannot choose a strategy.
Why packaged promises disappoint
Packaged SEO has a place. A fixed list of work at a fixed price is easy to buy and easy to compare. The trouble comes when the package is built around what is cheap for the provider to deliver rather than what your site needs: ten directory submissions, a set number of blog posts, some links.
Ask what changes on your site. If the answer is "nothing on your site, we build links elsewhere", you are buying a rumour of authority, not an improvement. We do not sell backlink packages, and we would suggest a different provider if links are all you want.
Watch the promises too. Any package that guarantees positions, traffic or a date is describing a result nobody controls.
How to judge a proposal
Read any SEO proposal with a pen. Underline every line that names something on your site: a page, a template, a setting, a listing. Then underline every line that talks about activity in general, such as "optimization", "authority building" or "monthly reporting". If the second group is longer, you are reading marketing copy.
A proposal worth signing says what the first fixes will be, who does them and how you will know they worked. It names the tools in plain terms only where they matter. It also says what is left out, because honest scope includes the things you are not getting.
Check the exit as well. You should keep your content, your accounts and any pages built for you. If stopping means losing them, the solution was never yours.
What our version looks like
Our starting point is the free SEO evaluation. It costs nothing, needs no card and carries no commitment. In about two to three days you receive, in plain English, what is holding the site back and what we would fix first.
If you want us to do the work, we agree a fixed scope and a written price before anything starts. Ongoing SEO is optional, never bundled and never on a retainer you have to sign. Our services cover local SEO, technical SEO, ecommerce and Shopify SEO, on-page content, bilingual SEO, AI search and audits. Not every business needs all of them, and we say so.
On very large sites the answer changes. VisaTalents, which we run, has more than 40,000 generated pages, and there the solution is mostly about crawl paths, sitemaps, caching and which pages deserve to be indexed. A five page plumber site needs a very different list.
Questions
What is an SEO solution?
It is a plan and a set of changes fitted to your site: a technical review, a page and keyword map, content improvements, local SEO where relevant and tracking to measure results. It is not a single tool or a fixed bundle.
Is SEO software a complete SEO solution?
No. Software helps you find issues and monitor progress, but it cannot decide priorities or write pages for your customers. A person has to interpret what it finds.
How long does an SEO solution take to work?
Technical fixes can show in weeks. Competitive terms usually take months. Anyone offering a firm date for page one is guessing.
Should an SEO solution be a monthly subscription?
Not necessarily. A diagnosis and a first round of fixes often suit a fixed price. Ongoing work can be monthly if it keeps paying for itself, and you should be able to stop whenever you choose.
