White label SEO: what to ask before you resell it.
By Vijay Ara, Founder, BizIntegra Truro, Nova Scotia Updated October 25, 2026
White label SEO means a provider does the work and you present it to your client under your own name. Whether it helps your business depends on who does the work, how they report, and what happens when a client asks a hard question.

What it means
White label is a simple arrangement. Your client buys SEO from you. Somebody else, behind the scenes, does some or all of the work. Their name does not appear on reports or emails, yours does.
The deliverables vary: a one-off technical audit, a batch of on-page fixes, a content plan, or ongoing monitoring. Be clear which you are buying, because each has a different shape of risk. An audit is easy to check. Ongoing work needs a reporting rhythm you can trust.
It is common and legitimate when the work is good and the client is not misled about what they are getting. It goes wrong when the provider is a black box and you cannot answer questions about your own deliverables.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
It suits web design agencies and freelancers whose clients keep asking for SEO, and who want to say yes without hiring a specialist. It also suits busy marketers who need technical audits done properly and quickly. Agencies searching for "white labeled SEO" want a partner whose work they can put their own name on, and that is a different buying decision from hiring SEO for yourself.
It does not suit anyone hoping to buy cheap volume and mark it up without understanding it. If you cannot explain to a client what was changed and why, you will lose that client the first time results are slow.
Questions to put to any provider
Ask who actually does the work, and whether they are employed or subcontracted again. Ask to see a sample report with the branding removed. Ask what access they need, and how that access is handled and removed.
Ask what they will not do. A provider who agrees to anything is not thinking about your clients' sites. Ask what happens when a client wants a phone call, and whether you can be on it.
Check how they price: per task, per project or per month, and whether anything is bundled that you did not ask for. Get scope and price in writing before work starts.
The trouble with white labeled ranking promises
You will see offers described as seo white labeled ranking, as though positions can be delivered like a print order. They cannot. Rankings depend on competition, the site, and Google's decisions, and anyone guaranteeing a position is either guessing or doing something you do not want your name on.
Be careful too with providers who build links in bulk under your client's domain. When it backfires, the client blames you, not the supplier you never mentioned.
How we work with partners
We are a small founder-led studio in Truro, Nova Scotia, working remotely across Canada, in English and French. Agency and freelancer partners can read about the arrangement on our white-label page.
The work is the same as for direct clients: technical SEO, on-page and content, local and ecommerce SEO, bilingual SEO, AI search and audits. We scope the job, put a fixed written price on it before anything starts, and never guarantee rankings. Ongoing work is optional, never bundled.
If you want to test us, send a client site for a free SEO evaluation. You see how we explain things before you decide anything.
We would also say no to some work. If a client site has been hit by a manual penalty from bought links, or the real need is paid advertising, a better-suited specialist will serve your client more honestly than we can.
Expect plain reports: what we found, what we changed, what we would do next, in order of impact. No dashboards of vanity numbers.
A sensible way to start
Do not hand over your whole client list on day one. Pick one client with a real problem, such as a site that is not indexing properly or a store with duplicate pages, and run a single defined job.
Judge the result on three things: was the diagnosis correct, was the report something you could forward without editing, and did the fixes hold. If yes, extend the relationship. If not, you have lost very little.
Agree up front who talks to the client when something breaks, who owns the deliverables and how quickly questions get answered. Small points, but they are where partnerships usually fail.
Keep control of the client relationship
Whoever you choose, keep the accounts in the client's name where you can: Search Console, Analytics, Google Business Profile. Keep a change log. Put expectations in writing: technical fixes can show in weeks, competitive terms usually take months.
Tell the client early what will not be done, such as buying links or promising a position. A client who hears that on day one stays calmer in month three than one who was promised the moon.
Your reputation is the product here. Pick a provider whose answers you would be comfortable repeating to a client, and who will let you ask the awkward questions before the first invoice, not after.
Questions
Is white label SEO legitimate?
Yes, when the work is real, the client is not harmed and nobody lies about results. Subcontracting specialist work is common in agencies.
Will my client know you exist?
Not unless you choose to tell them. We work under your name and follow your lead on communication.
Can I test you before committing?
Yes. A free SEO evaluation of a client site is a low-risk way to see our reports and how we explain things.
Do you guarantee rankings for my client?
No. Nobody can, and we will not give you a promise you would have to pass on.
