Website builder or hire a professional? How to decide.

A website builder works well when you need a simple site: a few pages, your contact details, some photos, and no special features. If you have the time to learn the tool, and you are happy to work within its templates, a builder is the cheapest way to get online.

It also suits a business that is just starting and may change direction. You can launch quickly, learn what customers ask for, and decide later whether the site needs to do more.

Hire someone when the website has a job to do: booking appointments, taking quote requests with photos attached, connecting to your invoicing or scheduling software, or selling products. A site that has to bring in work needs to be fast, clear on a phone and easy for Google to read, and those are the areas where a builder gives you the least control.
